Welcome!
I am Dana (pronounced dah-nah).I am 28 years old. I grew up in Southern California where I currently live with my parents (and main caretakers). I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology and a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration. I am also a proud auntie. On May 30, 2020, in the height of the Covid- 19 pandemic, I suffered an ischemic stroke on the right side. In pre-pandemic and pre-stroke times, I was a big traveler; my favorite area to date being Scandanvia. Skol! Without being too dramatic, I feel that Passenger plays the soundtracks of my soul. Fun recovery fact: The first time I was able to wiggle my toes post-stroke was when I was listening to a Passenger song; he’s kind of a big deal. I am quirky and I take pride in my quirkiness. I never wear a matching pair of socks, it's one of my defining characteristics. I am a proud Potterhead and Hufflepuff. I’m a very sarcastic person, and I love laughing. My pre- stroke hobbies have proven difficult post-stroke, so I am rediscovering what hobbies I enjoy and learning about entirely new ones along the way. The universe forced me to press pause on my life, so I am trying to use this time for growth personally and professionally, neuro-fatigue permitting.

ABOUT THE NAME:
The name of my blog is a little peculiar, I know. For starters, “fork in the road” was taken but the plural was available. I ran with it because recovery has many, many aspects which means you have many many forks in the various roads. Every time you think you've reached a plateau and have caught a break, you realize that as you look across the horizon, there’s another road/hill to trek through and over. It's a long and winding road (that's for my fellow Beatles fans ;]). It also feels very overwhelming and never ending. It calms down after you've learned to settle in with your new normal but the never ending part doesn't end ever. That's because it is the purpose of life; continual growth through continual choices. If you keep that in mind, it gets less daunting over time.
